Shane Scott Franklin who was born on April 4th, 1981 is one of the most talented rappers to ever come from the Eastside of New Orleans, Louisiana. He should also be the, "weed don't stop me from working" spokesperson due to his relentless work ethic and passion to be a successful artist while being an advocate for smoking marijuana. Franklin is more well known by his stage name, "Curren$y" or "Spitta Andretti" which signifies his want to be an underground music king and lowrider enthusiast as he states in this Hot97 interview. In this Mass Appeal interview, Curren$y details how his introduction into the rap game was supposed to be via his brother and MC, "Mr. Marcelo" who was working with the artist, "Doe-Doe" that was partners with No Limits Label CEO, "Master-P". Marcelo and Doe Doe were supposed to start a label called, "Tough Guy Entertainment" that Curren$y could be a part of, but that situation was terminated due to Doe-Doe being murdered before they could fully develop the proper situation. Then another local artist that was affiliates with No Limit Records known as, "C-Murder" also tried to put Curren$y into the rap game but unfortunately the situation was stopped prematurely as C-Murder was convicted of murder and sent to prison. Later, the No Limit CEO, Master P, got in touch with his mother in order to get in contact with Curren$y to invite him to work with the 504 Boyz on No Limit Records. During this interview with Snoop Dogg, Curren$y reveals how after working with the 504 Boyz he wanted to go independent but ended up linking up with New Orleans native, "Lil Wayne" for Young Money Entertainment. Curren$y ended up doing countless records with Lil Wayne before leaving that situation to start his own label under, "Warner Bros Records" called, "Jet Life Recordings". One of the first projects he released under his own collective is called, "Weekend At Burnies" (2011). Since then, Spitta has released over 20 mixtapes with some of his standout musical compositions in, "How Fly" with Wiz Khalifa & "New Jet City" and over 5 studio albums, some of the standout albums being, "The Stoned Immaculate" (2012), "Pilot Talk III" (2015) & "Canal Street Confidential"(2015). With his unparalleled work ethic, Curren$y was able to develop a cult-like following and loyal fanbase for his dope music and inspirational life philosophy known as, "Just Enjoy This Shit" which is used as an acronym for "JETS" for his Jet Life Collective. This enabled him to travel all over the country to deliver dope performances and to constantly provide his fans with quality music under his Jet Life Recordings label.
