DJ Mustard

The signature West Coast sound has always been evolving since the days of the legendary duo consisting of, "Dr. Dre" and "Snoop Dogg"  that gifted us with countless Hip-Hop classics. The godfather himself Snoop Dogg has proclaimed the Compton bred MC, "YG" and Los Angeles bred DJ and Producer, "DJ Mustard" the new pioneers of the West Coast Hip-Hop sound. DJ Mustard born, "Dijon Isaiah McFarlane" on June 5th, 1990 in Los Angeles, California, says his stage name derives from his first name's condiment counterpart. DJ Mustard started off as a DJ at the age of 11, as he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his uncle who is also a DJ known as, "DJ Tee". During an interview with Snoop Dogg, DJ Mustard detailed how his musical career started off by hosting YG's first mixtape before he even met the MC. In this same interview, DJ Mustard details how he got linked up with YG through a mutual friend and being inspired to make beats after seeing the Los Angeles bred artist, "Ty Dolla $ign" making the beat for YG's first hit record, "Toot It And Boot It". After Ty gave him his first sound pack, he got hooked to making beats and would continue to create day and night with YG until they developed a sound that would be undeniable. DJ Mustard would get his first big beat placement on the song he produced for the Los Angeles artist, "Tyga" with the smash record, "Rack City" that peaked at #7 on Billboards Top 100 list in 2011. From there, DJ Mustard would continue to build on his signature sound which features his famous tagline on most of his beats, "Mustard On The Beat Hoe!" that was actually recorded by, "YG". He would continue to record smash hits such as, "2-Chainz's" double platinum selling single, "I'm Different" and "Tinashe's" summer anthem, "2 On"

In 2013, DJ Mustard signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation label to build a solid foundation to build his own label, "10 Summers". Most recently, DJ Mustard has produced the majority of YG's masterpiece West Coast album, "My Krazy Life" that received critical acclaim from rap critics and the Hip-Hop community respectively. DJ Mustard also released his first album, "10 Summers" which is a showcase of his signature production that features vocal appearances from artists that include but are not limited to, "Big Sean", "Nipsey Hussle" and "Dom Kennedy"
