Last year, Chief Executive Officer Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith of the Hip-Hop powerhouse known as Top Dawg Entertainment posted his plans to dominate 2016-17 by dropping constant projects and enlisting a few new artists. The "John Doe 2" artist on his whiteboard who is now known as the Inglewood native, "SiR" has assertively immersed himself cohesively into TDE's culture through the instant success of SiR's third official project, and TDE's first official project in 2017, "Her Too".
The Inglewood MC who adopted his moniker from his government name, "Sir Darryl Faris" has not always dreamed of being drafted by the Hip-Hop juggernaut crew known as TDE and instead initially had aspirations of becoming the next professional basketball superstar. Although, once SiR realized his hoop dreams would not materialize (due to his lack of size), he would instead opt for a music career akin to his musically inclined brother that is described as a phenomenal singer and inspiration to SiR's musical career as stated during SiR's interview with Billboard. After a short-lived and unsuccessful stint of living on his own in Hollywood, SiR would begin developing a serious passion for music by landing an engineering gig for Tyrese in 2012 while honing his skills as a songwriter. This first experience would ignite the flame within SiR to continue to make music and would translate into SiR working with the universally acclaimed musicians "Jill Scott", "Anita Baker", "Robert Glasper" and "Stevie Wonder" via his relationship with the legendary songwriters Dre and Vidal.
Before releasing his breakout 2015 project, "Seven Sunday's", SiR would release his first full-length project, "Wooden Voodoo" in 2012 and his 2014 J.Dilla tribute project called, "Long Live Dilla" that was inspired by the legendary producer himself. Seven Sunday's features contributions from the highly talented and successful musicians in Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge on the songs, "Love You" and "Liberation". This project would land him guest spots on Isaiah Rashad's critically acclaimed album, "The Sun's Tirade" and Jay Rock's "90059" on the songs, "Rope" and "The Ways". Just six months after releasing his critically acclaimed and highly praised project "Her", SiR would release the follow-up to his impressive 2016 EP with the project, "Her Too" which was the first project under the umbrella of Top Dawg Entertainment for 2017.
